1978年生まれの湯浅克俊は、ロンドンのロイヤル・カレッジ・オブ・アートを卒業し、10年以上にわたって国際的に展示を行ってきました。
近年では、名古屋市美術館、横浜美術館で開催された「モネ それからの100年」展に出品し、多くの観客に彼の卓越された作品を印象づけました。
日本の伝統芸術の一つともいえる木版画、写真とデジタル技術とが融合した湯浅の作品は、版画における現代美術としてのポジションをあらたに作ったと言えるでしょう。
SAIKONEONでの滞在では版木制作と共に西湖周辺や富士山の景観を中心に熱心にリサーチ。他の富士五湖や樹海でも資料写真の撮影を連日敢行していました。レジデンスでのリサーチ活動は新たな構想となり、後日作品を発表されました。

Katsutoshi Yuasa was born in Tokyo. He graduated from the Royal College of Art in London, and has exhibited internationally for over a decade now.In recent years, he has exhibited at the “Monet 100 years after that” exhibition held at the Nagoya City Museum of Art and the Museum of Yokohama, and impressed many spectators with his outstanding work.Combining traditional Japanese woodcutting techniques with photography and digital technology, Katsutoshi Yuasa’s prints can be considered works of contemporary art.
During his stay at SAIKONEON, He enthusiastically researched the scenery around Saiko and around Mt. Fuji . He also took many pictures for art works every day at other Fuji Five Lakes and Aokigahara Forest. The research activity at the residence became a new concept, and the art work was presented at a later date.
