アーティスト・イン・レジデンスとはある特定の地域、場所に一定の期間滞在し、作品の制作や研究活動、調査活動を行なうプログラムのことです。世界中では美術分野のアーティストのみならず、デザイナーや学術研究者など様々なジャンルの表現者、研究者を対象としたプログラムが様々な団体が招致事業を展開しています。 「AIR」と省略して表記されることがあります。
- Q. SAIKONEONはどんな場所にあるのですか？
- A.
SAIKONEONは東京の主要都市からバスで約２時間半の場所、山梨県にあります。 富士山の近く、富士五湖のひとつ西湖のほとりにあります。 近隣にはキャンプ場も多く釣りのメッカとしても有名です。また隣接する河口湖よりホテルは少なく静かでリラックスできる環境をお約束できるでしょう。
- Q. 主要都市からはどのような交通機関がありますか？
- A.
日本の関東地方（東京近郊）では千葉にある成田空港と川崎にある羽田空港の２つの国際港が存在します。空港から東京の主要都市（東京、新宿、渋谷など）までは特別急行列車か高速バスで移動をおすすめします。 東京から河口湖駅までは高速バスをおすすめします。鉄道での行き方は非常に複雑です。 各主要都市から高速バスは下記より検索ください。
- Q. スーパーやコンビニなどの周辺施設を教えてください。
- A.
スーパーマーケットやコンビニエンスストアは車で約15分の場所にあります。 ですから管理人と定期的に一緒に買い出しをしたり自転車の無料貸出で滞在生活をサポートいたします。飲み物の自動販売機は歩いてすぐ近くに数カ所あります。 また作品制作のための材料は近隣のDIYショップにて様々な資材が購入可能ですし、必要な画材がある場合インターネット通販をお勧めいたします。Amazon.jpでの購入であれば短期間でのデリバリーも可能です。
- Q. 電気や水道など設備の詳細を教えてください。
- A.
日本は電気、水道ともにインフラ設備が非常に良好です。停電や制限はほとんどありませんし、特に当施設近辺の水道水は清潔で直接飲むことができます。
また、共同のキッチンとバスルームを完備しており24時間ご利用いただけます。
- Q. 物価を教えてください。
- A.
日本は他の国と比べると物価が高い国です。安価なローカルレストランでも１食約800円ほどになります。１ヶ月約40,000円～50,000円を準備して頂くことをおすすめいたします。
また、作品に必要な資材等は事前にお問い合わせ頂くことをお勧めいたします。
種類によっては日本では高価なものがある可能性があります。

- Q. Where is SAIKONEON located?
- A.
SAIKONEON is located in Yamanashi Prefecture, about two and a half hours by bus from major cities in Tokyo. There are many campgrounds nearby and it is famous as a fishing spot. We can also promise a quiet and relaxing environment than the adjacent hotels at Lake Kawaguchiko.
- Q. What kind of transportation is available from major cities in Tokyo?
- A.
In the Kanto region of Japan (Tokyo,Kanagawa ect), there are two international airports: Narita Airport in Chiba and Haneda Airport in Kawasaki.
We recommend to acsess from the airport to major cities in Tokyo (Tokyo, Shinjuku, Shibuya, etc.) by special express train or express bus.
Also recommend highway buses from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko Station.Traveling by rail is very complicated.Please search for express buses from each major city below.
- Q. Please tell me about nearby facilities such as supermarkets and convenience stores.

Supermarkets and convenience stores are about a 15-minute drive away. Therefore, we will support your stay by buying them regularly with a residence manager or renting a bicycle for free.
Drink vending machines are just a short walk from here.
Various materials can be purchased at a nearby DIY shop and online shopping in japan.
If you choose to purchase at Amazon.jp, delivery in a short period is also possible.

- A.
Japan has very good infrastructure for electricity and water. There are almost no power outages or restrictions, and especially the tap water in the vicinity of the facility is clean and can be drunk directly.
Also a communal kitchen and bathroom available 24 hours.

Japan is a country with high prices compared to other countries. Even local restaurant costs about 800 yen per meal. We recommend that you prepare about 40,000 yen to 50,000 yen a month.
