SAIKONEONは山梨県にある湖、富士五湖の一つ西湖のほとりにたたずむアーティスト・イン・レジデンスです。西湖は東京より２時間たらずの距離にありながら富士の裾野に位置し、雄大な自然環境と様々な日本文化が垣間見える地域です。

元キャンプ場をリノベーションした当施設は建物が約300平米、敷地全体は裏山を含む約6000平米の広い敷地を持ち、合計２つのアーティストのためのプライベートスペースを保有しています。

畳など日本家屋の特徴を活かしながらもモダンな形で改築したスタジオや共有スペースでは、研究、制作活動に集中していただけます。

また湖と広大な裏山の間に位置する当施設では屋内だけでなく野外を使用した創作活動やパフォーマンスにもお勧めです。特に森にある施設「Butai 舞台」は様々な活動にご活用頂けます。

Location

SAIKONEON is an artist-in-residence situated on the shores of Lake Saiko, one of the Fuji Five Lakes, in Yamanashi Prefecture. Despite being just under two hours from Tokyo, Lake Saiko is nestled at the foot of Mount Fuji, offering a magnificent natural environment and glimpses of various aspects of Japanese culture.

Our facility, a renovated former campsite, spans approximately 300 square meters of building space and encompasses a vast area of around 6000 square meters, including a rear mountain. We provide two private spaces for artists.

The renovated studio and shared spaces, incorporating features of traditional Japanese architecture such as tatami, offer a modern atmosphere conducive to focused research and creative activities.

Situated between the lake and the expansive rear mountain, our facility encourages creative activities and performances not only indoors but also in outdoor settings. The facility, especially the "Butai 舞台" in the forest, is suitable for a variety of activities.
