Robert Gusdal is an emerging Choreographer and interdisciplinary artist from Canada;
The majority of his formal training being completed at Concordia University in Montreal through an Undergraduate program in contemporary dance.
The focus of his work has long been rooted in modules of integrating trauma informed therapy practices with the somatic body.
Having trained in various somatic release techniques and trauma informed yoga practices He developed his own somatic movement practice for aiding survivors of sexual assault.
In recent times his work has shifted from developing a road map to recovery to discovery of trauma informed movement scores which can be translated into a functional choreographic work.
During his stay at SAIKONEON, he used the stage in the forest to repeat physical practice, research choreography, and shoot some video.
